EDITORIAL NO 051 | 2020

Asian yards were able to book some large year-end newbuilding orders this week. South Korea reported large orders including VLCC tankers and gas carriers. A US$2.3 billion Chinese offshore wind project was also reported. Chinese yards also got business including container ships and bulk carriers. A sail-assisted bulk carrier was ordered in Japan. A European yard received major new financial aid to help it overcome the slump in cruise ship orders.
