EDITORIAL NO 035 | 2020

Low prices on offer by shipyards during the current economic slowdown helped to generate some large orders this week. South Korean yards won contracts for gas carriers from China worth US$440 million. Korean yards also won orders from Saudi Arabia worth US$530 million for chemical carriers and bulk carriers. Chinese yards won a series of contracts including bulk carriers and an asphalt carrier. Deals in the naval sector included training vessels for Argentina.
