Gas tanker orders continued to take centre stage this week, but China rather than South Korea took the lead. A gas tanker order reported in China could be worth over US$ 400 million. Other Chinese orders this week included a large wind farm installation ship, product carriers and bulk carriers. Korean shipyards received new orders, including tankers and product carriers. In the naval sector, European shipyards are in talks with a South American country for an order worth at least US$ 1.3 billion, and an order worth US$ 567.6 million was awarded in the United States.
