This week, large orders were reported by South Korean yards. Gas tankers worth US$448 million were contracted in Korea by a customer in Africa while a European shipping company also ordered container ships. RoRo vessels with fully electric propulsion capability were also ordered in Korea by a European customer. China also won contracts from Europe for RoRo vessels and container ships along. A Japanese shipping company contracted gas tankers for operation in Arctic waters. European yards reported deals for superyachts and short sea freighters.
