Shipbuilding activity started to slow down this week in the leading Asian countries as the Christmas and new year holidays approached, but with exceptions. A Chinese yard signed shipbuilding deals worth US$1.9 billion with a series of customers. The naval sector was active, with a 410 million euro naval support ship construction order placed. An Asian country has approved finance of about US$74.6 million to start a project to order two new corvettes. This is the last issue of New Ships in 2021, the next edition will appear on January 6, 2022. The New Ships team wishes all our readers a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.
