Chinese shipping interests are ordering container ships while a major contract for VLCC tankers is also expected to be placed in China. Chinese yards also won bulk carrier orders. A huge order for VLCC tankers on the way for South Korea. Korean yards also inked major deals in the offshore gas and LPG carrier sectors. In naval shipbuilding, plans for a new aircraft carrier were revealed in Europe.
