Brisk orders continued in the leading Asian shipbuilding countries this week. South Korea’s deals included gas carriers, an offshore installation vessel, product carriers and container ships. China’s orders included dual-fuel gas carriers and chemical tankers. Japan won orders for a gas carrier and a specialist electricity transport vessel. The trend towards environment-friendly shipping generated more newbuilding projects in several regions including a sail-powered Arctic supply vessel for a European yard.
