Good news came for European cruise shipbuilding this week, with the first order placed for very large passenger cruise vessels since the Corona pandemic. A USD 2 billion boxship order was reported for China. Other Chinese deals included a large RoRo ferry from a European customer, car carriers, and bulk carriers. South Korean yards had an excellent week, with orders for gas carriers worth over USD 1 billion placed and a USD 600 million naval contract also won. Two separate Scandinavian projects involve plans to build zero-emission container ships for sailings in Europe.
