Chinese yards had an excellent week with a series of major orders being negotiated or signed. These included container ships of up to 23,000 TEU, a series of 10 car carriers, large gas carriers and bulk carriers. South Korea won a US$421.5 million gas carrier order plus contracts for container ships and chemical carriers. Efforts to reduce pollution from shipping were once more behind a series of projects. An agreement to build ammonia-powered freighter was reached in Europe. A contract for research ship with green power was awarded in Germany.
