Global moves to protect the environment by using liquefied natural gas (LNG) continued to generate more shipbuilding orders this week. A series of LNG carrier contracts were booked by yards in South Korea while liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers were also in demand. An order for LNG-powered offshore support vessels in China was also revealed. Meanwhile, China continued its expansion into warship exports with a major naval contract while a large warship order was being awarded in Britain. State-backed moves to rescue a shipyard in Croatia continued.
