EDITORIAL NO 031 | 2023

Chinese shipyards continued to dominate global shipbuilding orders this week. Chinese orders or deals under negotiation included dual-fuel VLCC tankers, bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, tankers and product carriers. South Korea received orders for liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and tankers and is negotiating a multi-billion dollar LNG carrier order with an Arab customer. In the marine sector, a very large deal was reported. A naval order worth EUR 925 million was placed in Europe, while nine destroyers were ordered in the United States.
