EDITORIAL NO 029 | 2019

Orders for large-sized merchant vessels remained at relatively low levels this week. China won orders for tankers while South Korea booked tanker and bulk carrier deals. The naval sector remained active with large modernisation contracts placed in Canada. Britain is continuing its return to the naval ship export market with hopes of a deal in New Zealand. Meanwhile, another major merger in Chinese shipbuilding is being discussed.
