Chinese yards won orders for a wide range of vessels especially from Chinese customers including deck cargo ships, a crane ship and a new type of vessel for offshore fish farming. New types of environmentally friendly craft continued to be ordered from Dutch yards. In the naval sector, Germany’s parliament has approved the award of a controversial 6 billion euro contract for frigates to a Dutch-led consortium while a Dutch design is being considered for new Indonesian frigates. U.S. yards won orders for a landing vessel and patrol vessels.
