It was another successful week for Chinese yards with orders in various shipping sectors. Chinese business included large environmentally friendly car carriers, gas carriers, oil tankers, long-range product carriers, multi-purpose freighters and bulk carriers with European customers strongly represented. South Korea won container ship and product carrier orders. The naval sector was active, with multi-billion-dollar deals signed or on the way in the United States and Canada. A 2-billion-euro naval order was approved in Europe.
