Chinese shipyards had another successful week with deals in tankers, product carriers, bulk carriers and offshore facilities, among others. In South Korea, a new floating nuclear power plant project was announced. Japan was awarded a large bulker contract. In Asia, a major order for dual-fuel container ships is currently being negotiated. In the naval sector, a ship order worth 5.1 billion US dollars is expected in the United States. A European shipyard is also asking its Government for an additional payment for a naval order after the cost of raw materials and equipment rose sharply.
