EDITORIAL NO 015 | 2021

South Korea and China again achieved a decent order volume this week. In China, a US$1.56 billion container ship order was confirmed along with other deals including bulk carriers. A US$202 million gas carrier order was won in Korea while a US$306 million research vessel is planned in Japan. Europe won a major export order for RoPax ferries along with bulk carriers with battery hybrid propulsion. More details were revealed about the latest offers for a frigate order in Europe. But sadly a well-known European yard has filed for insolvency as the economic slowdown continues.
