The world shipbuilding market hardly saw a pause for the Easter holidays with brisk ordering continuing. Large deals were reported in China including for container ships won by several yards and bulk carriers. A big Chinese order for box carriers from a European customer is said to be close. Europe saw orders for a residential apartment ship. Efforts to increase environmental protection continue to stimulate new projects in Europe including plans to build a carbon-neutral container ship. A major deal for electrically powered ferries was also won by a European yard. In the naval sector, European frigate and aircraft carrier projects were approved.
