EDITORIAL NO 012 | 2021

After a relatively quiet period, Chinese yards were more successful in winning orders this week. Chinese deals included container ships, bulk carriers, chemical carriers and gas tankers. A major Asian shipping company confirmed plans for a US$2.6 billion programme to build container ships. Environmental protection continued to be the dominating theme for new design concepts. The naval sector saw multi-billion dollar orders placed in Europe and the United States.
