It was another week with large placed orders for gas carriers. South Korea won two separate contracts both worth close to US$200 million from customers in the Middle East and Europe. Chinese newbuilding deals included methanol-ready bulk carriers and product carriers. In the naval sector, an unusually large contract worth 1 billion euros was signed by a yard in the Middle East with a customer in Africa. A design deal for a US$1.5 billion naval ships programme was signed in Asia.
