Chinese yards had a busy week ahead of the Lunar new year holidays in Asia starting at the end of January. Chinese orders included vehicle carriers ready for zero-carbon emissions, container ships and bulk carriers. Talks about boxships were reported by South Korean yards. In Europe, superyacht orders worth 200 million euros were reported. In the naval sector, Israel placed a 3 billion euro deal for diesel-electric submarines. Efforts are being made to save a collapsed German cruise shipyard group, with several yards up for sale.
